Tarot cards
Tarot card reading is a form of Cartomancy whereby practitioners use tarot cards to purportedly gain insight into the past, present or future. The process typically begins with formulation of a question, followed by drawing and interpreting cards to uncover meaning.
A traditional tarot deck consists of 78 cards. The first written references to tarot packs occurred between 1440 and 1450 in northern Italy, for example in Milan and Ferrara, when additional cards with allegorical illustrations were added to the common four-suit pack.
Tarot readings have been carried out for several decades now and form part of Cartomancy and divination. Tarot cards can help individuals receive guidance or confirmation regarding certain aspects of life. They can help individuals comprehend events better and make better decisions.
Tarot cards are split into two different sets: The Major Arcana has 22 cards that illustrate significant periods in a person's life, one's development or significant life changes/choices, while the Minor Arcana, which is made up of 56 cards further divided into four suits namely, Cups, Wands, Swords, and Pentacles, portrays individuals' experiences in day-to-day life.
With the help of advanced technologies and the internet, tarot readings are also advancing. Scheduling sessions is no longer a necessity of meeting up and having the session done physically; the services are nowadays online for anyone interested in tarot, no matter the location they are in the world.
The use of tarot cards, particularly when reading on the internet, is one of the most common ways of spiritual practice and receiving confidential information.
